Above is the church of Santa Maria di Valleverde.

It is built on the site of an apparition of the Virgin Mary at Valleverde , a short distance from Bovino.

This statue of the Madonna is kept in the cathedral.

This is another statue of Santa Maria di Valleverde during the procession on 29 August.

 

As well as the religious procession, there is also a horse parade to celebrate Santa Maria di Valleverde.

Another tradition on 29 August is the celebration of by gone ways of life.

Here we see the statue from the cathedral in the evening procession up Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, with the street illuminated for the feast.
