At street level, it is very easy to walk by the church of Santa Maria del Carmine without noticing. It's plain brown door and natural stonework seem to blend in naturally with the street. However, if you look back, the bell tower gives a hint that this is no ordinary front door. The church was built by the Jesuits starting in the 16th century.

The church of Santa Maria del Carmine has one of the most beautiful interiors of all of the churches in Bovino.
